RELIGION AND HEALTH:
Meet Lovey Dove:
The children met the first Kimochi doll Lovey Dove and her baby, Turtle Dove. Lovey Dove is a warm, nurturing and caring mother bird. She is a feeling toy to help us remember to be friendly, kind and help others. Sometimes Lovey Dove takes on other peoples concerns and worries too much as she loves taking care of others. This is tricky for Lovey Dove and she needs to learn to let go sometimes and not be worried if turtle dove wants to try new things.
Here is a video for parents:
Literature:
Little Red Riding Hood:
On Red day we read the fairytale, " The Little Red Riding Hood". The children learnt this story was make-believe, however, it taught us the importance of listening to our parents to stay safe.
We loved that Piper from Kindy Blue was dressed as Little Red Riding Hood for the day.
Mathematics and The Arts
We have been learning how to identify and recognise our 2D shapes.
We made circle paintings with different circle shaped tools. We also decorated our Mother's day photos with colourful squares to turn them into a photo frame.
Fine motor and gross motor
Learning to trace and cut out 2D shapes.
Our shape obstacle course
We had a local Vet Kindy Dad come and visit both classes. Thank you so much Seamus for teaching us all about being a Veterinarian. We got a special school pass to allow,Bunty the dog to come in and shows us great training and tricks.
Thank you so much DR SEAMUS!
Knowledge of the world around us:
Colour exploration and mixing was happening all through the week.
The children explored colour mixing by using two primary colours to see what colour they could make.
They learnt RED and Yellow make Orange and
RED and White make Pink.
See you for Blue and Green day!
Happy birthday Mila. We hope you enjoyed turning 4!
