We have been reading the fairy tale, " The Enormous turnip" and celebrating spring time in kindy this week.
We read the story using the shared big book and then told the story using felt pieces. Afterwards, we acted out the characters. The class become the old man, the old woman, a boy, girl, cat,dog and mouse and they all tried to pull up the enormous turnip.
The Kindies learnt that vegetables are grown fresh from the garden and can be delicious. The kindies made green smoothies. This activity was a big hit and all the children tried this delicious and healthy drink.
There was gardening with Mr Lee:
Kindy Blue planted corn.
Kindy Red planted snow peas.
Both classes had to help Mr Lee harvest the potatoes.
We also focused on number recognition of numbers 1-10 and having ago at our number formations.
