This is me and my Family: We are all apart of Rainbow Room at OLC. Please keeping sending in your family photos if you haven't already.

Here is our Birthday wall. In Kindy it's a big deal turning 4 and 5.

Our Creation Wall.
This has been a good way to see what the children like creating and making. During the course of the day I add anything they have made independently to the wall. It's a great way to get to know some of their skills and interests.

On Mondays, it's all about ourselves and learning about what makes each person special. Come in and see the children's first self portraits hanging up.

Exploring what we look like.
I can recognise my own name every where:
Everyday we do name recognition games and other special name games to get to know our friends in Kindy.

If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales and nursery rhymes. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales and nursery rhymes.”
- Albert Einstein
Humpty Dumpty :
After singing the rhyme and acting it out with our classroom Humpty Dumpty, the children had to put a Humpty back together again. Lucky a Kindy child suggested we needed some bandaids.
The children learnt another rhyme to help them to get clever at using their scissors ...
Fingers on the bottom, thumb up the top.
open wide and chop chop chop.

The children also helped their teacher come up with safe ways to play so know one gets hurt in Kindy like Humpty Dumpty.
Wow! the children all wanted to put Humpty back together again, when we made Humpty biscuits.

Incy Wincy Spider:
After singing the rhyme and acting it out with our classroom spider, the children were involved in exploring the rhyme with many sensory experiences.
Funnels and spouts
For one of out name games, the Kindies made a real spider's web using thread and each other.
Each artwork is unique. The children have their own way of interpreting a learning experience given a variety of different tools to do so. We cut, we create, we glue and we paint to make our little fingers stronger every day.
During the day, the children have time to 'just play' in the centres with their friends.
Twinkle Twinkle little star
You are special. Yes you are!
The children made shooting stars for the nursery rhyme " Twinkle Twinkle little star". We measured how tall your child was to make the star's shooting tail.
