Week 8 and 9: Easter time

These last two week's of Term One were filled with learning about the importance of Easter and being involved in Easter fun leading up to the big day.

In sport we used the song 'hop bunnies hop' to practise our fundamental movement skills. The children were involved in hoping, balancing and jumping activities. Then it was relay time with the egg and spoon.

In literacy we read the Easter story about Jesus's life, 'Going on an Easter egg hunt' , 'If I were the Easter bunny' and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar. In our Pre literacy programme we explored the beginning, middle and end of our stories and also learnt how to break up our words into syllables. We still need lots of practise at this tricky skill.

Did you know the word rabbit has two syllables?  and
the word egg only has one.

In art we made hungry caterpillars, butterfly paintings, Easter baskets and Easter cards.

In maths we are learning about patterns and 1:1 correspondence. The children enjoyed matching the miniature eggs to the correct number. The children loved singing along to our counting songs, five hot cross buns and Five little bunnies.

In science we watched Easter eggs float and sink and we were so fortunate to have Mrs Lauder come in to do some cooking with us. The children got to take home the recipe for tasty healthy jellies. They were delicious. Thank you so much Fiona!

...And Of course the Easter Bunny visited both of our classes. Wow what a Term. Well done team.

I apologise to Kindy Red, I was away and wasn't able to capture any photos of this class. I will make it up to them in Term Two.

Thank you for all my Birthday love. This is River and he made me a chocolate cake.

Yummy Jellies we made in cooking.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVE!

Hopping time we our Easter bonnets.

The Easter Bunny left some fur.

The Easter bunny made it to Kindy.

We're going on an Easter egg hunt...

Happy Easter!

We worked out that some Kindies had short names and some Kindies had long names. Each caterpillar was unique.

On the Holidays I had an Easter party with my niece and nephews.  I hope everyone had a wonderful break. See you all for Term Two.

We wish everyone a happy Easter!
